Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider powering those results. Our servers do not retain a copy of that search. When you contact us, we receive the details in your message and use them to respond.
Data We Gather Automatically
Standard hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. We review aggregate trends to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or related tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
How Information Is Used
Information supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvements. We neither sell visitor lists nor create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to Cook County and Illinois portals, library collections, archives, and outside search tools. Data submitted after leaving this site is governed by the destination's policy. Sponsored search results are also supplied by a third party.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights to access, correct, or delete personal data may depend on where you live and which law applies. Illinois does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy act in effect that creates a general deletion right for all visitors. Applicable protections remain record-specific. The Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, exempts defined private information from disclosure, and the Illinois Attorney General administers an Address Confidentiality Program for qualifying survivors. Neither rule creates a broad right to erase public records. Because we retain little data, a request normally involves checking contact messages and available logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by Illinois, Cook County, or Rolling Meadows are controlled by their custodians, so correction or lawful redaction requests must go to the responsible office.
Updates to This Policy
